Ablations - new series of riso prints

A series of six riso prints has been produced from the Ablations experiments undertaken in summer 2022. The images are derived from digital photographs documenting the melt of drawings at different glacial sites in the Val'd'Herens, Switzerland. The image is a snapshot of a moment frozen in time, printed a a single layer of gold ink on 170gsm context paper. However, like the glacial archaeology depicted in the drawings, the natural vegetable ink of riso is sensitive to environmental forces. Over time the ink will fade, and the image, like the archaeology and the ice will begin to slip away.

Each print measures 28 x 42 cm (h x w) and is produced in an edition of 25, signed and dated.
