On Origins and Endings

The Being Human Festival 2018, the national festival of the humanities runs from 15-24th November 2018. As part of the festival, Brantwood, the John Ruskin House and Museum, was selected to host 'Life Lines: the Art of Good Looking' a hands on family oriented workshop about John Ruskin's clothing and how it is being studied through drawing. The workshop shared the research from the Ruskin's Good Looking! project and introduced visitors to the idea of using drawing to study clues in clothing and the opportunity to drawing Ruskin's clothing themselves. It was great to share the research with so many enthusiastic visitors and to see some 'good looking' in action!

The workshop was supported by Being Human. Sponsored by the AHRC, British Academy and School of Advanced Studies, University of London.
