It's an honour that the Ruskin Library and Research Centre at Lancaster University have taken their title for their annual seminar series this year from my research project at Brantwood – 'Ruskin's Good Looking!'. It was a pleasure to be invited to accompany Dr Rachel Dickinson to deliver the first seminar of the series this evening.
Our presentations converged on the topic of Ruskin dress and textiles. Mine discussed the research and artworks being developed on the Ruskin's Good Looking! project. Rachel expanded discussion by exploring Ruskin's ideas around textiles within a wider historical context.
