Returning to Ryerson

It has been a pleasure to spend the past week working in Toronto undertaking more research for the Exquisite Corpses project with Ingrid Mida. In edition to exhibition planning and running a workshop we managed to fit in a bit of time for some drawing. This enabled me to complete the series of garment maps that have been made about the selected artefacts featured in the project. Each map is produced by close scrutiny of the clothing, recording the details on graph paper mapping out relationships between parts paling close attention to stitching and variations of texture and adornment. The maps are then used in the studio the recall and recreate drawings of the garments using materials and processes not permitted within the archive itself.
